HIERARCH® APOLOGIZES FOR CONTROVERSIAL AD

2026 March 4

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The makers of HIERARCH®: CALL OF THE VOYANCER® are formally apologizing for an advertisement which ran after the cancellation of Wildlight Entertainment’s raid shooter Highguard.

Highguard made its notorious debut at The Game Awards in December 2025, and despite the new studio’s world-class creative talent, laid off most of its team in February and announced that its servers would close for good on March 12, 2026.

While we had intended to poke satirical fun with a plucky bit of good-natured gloating, HIERARCH® and its leadership team now recognize that our advertisement could have been received in poor taste.

Additionally we regret sending postcards of this image to families of Highguard developers at their home addresses and, in several instances, elementary school classrooms.

The creators of the highly anticipated pentuple-A 5v5 MMO persistent survival MOBA shooter HIERARCH®: CALL OF THE VOYANCER® honor the joyfully competitive spirit that inspires all game development, and to professionals affected by the ongoing challenges in our industry, we are proud to offer unpaid summer internships (six-month minimum contract).
